Artist Statement

    Chaos is often thought of in a negative way because it is disorder and people do not like unpredictability. However, without chaos there would not be creativity and life would be very boring. For my photo I wanted to show how chaos can lead to positive things.When brainstorming for this photo I thought about how when building with LEGOs everything comes assembled and it can look like a mess. However, this chaos actually leads to some very cool creations. 

    My photo shows an overwhelming amount of LEGOs with instructions disarrayed around them. The LEGOs represent the chaos and the instructions show what that chaos can lead to. Before there can be order, there must first be chaos and I think the LEGOs do a good job of showing that principle.   

 

When taking this photo I was reminded of all the creativity I had when I was younger when I would play with LEGOs. Even though some people might see chaos when looking at a mess of LEGOs, I see all the possibility for creating something awesome.
