Artist Statement

    A rebel is someone who who rises in opposition against an established government or ruler. As a teenager, people rebel against their parents and the rules for them. Most of the time teenagers rebel because they have differences in opinion from their parents and want to be in control of their freedom. For my photo I wanted to shoot something relatable to myself right now and show the typical rebellious teenager. 

    My photo is of a teenage girl climbing out her bedroom window. She is wearing a backpack to show that she is planning on leaving for a while. It is a common stereotype that teenagers sneak out without their parents knowing and my photo shows this idea.

 

    If I could re-shoot this photo there would be a few things that I would change. First, I would take it at nighttime because that is more common time that teenagers sneak out. Also, I might consider having the parents barging into the room and catching her sneaking out to make the photo tell more of a story.
