Artist Statement

    People use energy everyday but they don't often think about where that energy is actually created. All of the energy we use comes from natural resources in some form. Our bodies get energy from either plants or animals that consume plants. The largest energy source in the world is from fossil fuels. These fossil fuels got their energy from energy that was stored in giant plants that lived hundreds of millions of years ago. My idea for creation is to show the creation of energy from its original sources: plants. 

    My photo shows a power strip with plants inside of it. The power strip represents human’s energy consumption. The plants sticking out of it show where that energy originally came from. My goal for this photo is for people to become more cognizant of their energy consumption. People do not realize how much harm they are causing to the environment with their energy use.
